Chimères ; figures de l'effondrement, is a plastic essay.
This research is based on the hypothesis that the Chimera is a resurgent figure in the landscape of contemporary art, and this at a time in our history when discourses of the world ending are numerous, but rarely pictured.
The book is structured around various utterances, along with a large beastiary that seems to fill this lack of representation.
In this way, over the pages, links are forged between creatures who are temporally far apart, demonstrating that this association with collapse is inherent to periods of troubles.
In the end, the Chimera draws the outlines of a world in mutation, formalizing in its flesh hypotheses for living in ruins. It proves to be fertile ground for different narrative modes, like so many alternative paths to be imagined and explored.
